Our 3rd graders have been hard at work learning about maps and this amazing world God created. This week they took a “trip” to Oxford, England! Dr. Locke, Mrs. Locke’s husband, is taking classes at Oxford and Facetimed our students to answer some questions. We love this activity because Mrs. Locke incorporated all the core classes! The students used math to calculating how many miles Dr. Locke traveled and mapped his trip. They worked on their science skills by studying the weather in Oxford and England. Then, to work on social studies, they asked Dr. Locke wonderful questions about life in England. These questions ranged from transportation to food to what life is like for kids going to school in England. They recorded all his answers in special notebooks. What a wonderful experience for our students and a creative way to “travel” the world!
