Hi, my name is Kristin Lewis. I LOVE being part of the family at WCS and teaching first grade. I thank God that He has given me this calling and such a wonderful place to use it. I can’t imagine being anywhere else.
I received my BA in Social Work and Law & Society, from Purdue University and worked in the MHMR field for several years in education with special needs adults. After my husband and I decided to start our family, I left the paid working world and stayed home with our children for many years. When my older children were well into school, I received my teaching certificate, through the Region 12 alternative certification program, and began teaching at a local public charter school. I was there for five years before God led me to WCS.
My wonderful supportive husband, Mike, and I have been married for 22 years. We have 5 wonderful children, two of which are adopted, Brandon 21, Kailyn 17, Alexandra 17, Samantha 8, and Eliana 6. My mother is also apart of our home. She travels back and forth between our home and Indiana, spending most of the school year with us. Our family is rounded out with our cat – Oscar, our guinea pigs – Sir Pops-alot and Cornelius Reginald Buffington (pop & corn), and a fish – Bluey Oceanus. The guinea pigs and fish spend the school year in the classroom because the fish loves to watch people and the pigs love to be read to. We have a really full house, but it’s also full of love and joy.
I am looking forward to another extraordinary year of sharing God’s love with the students and families of WCS. God is so good!
