Hi, my name is Kristin Lewis. This will be my 8th year with WCS and I LOVE being part of the family here and teaching first grade. I thank God that He has given me this calling and such a wonderful place to use it. I can’t imagine being anywhere else.
I received my BA in Social Work and Law & Society, from Purdue University and worked in the MHMR field for several years in education with special needs adults. After my husband and I decided to start our family, I left the paid working world and stayed home with our children for many years. When my older children were well into school I received my teaching certificate, through the Region 12 alternative certification program, and began teaching at a local public charter school. I was there for five years before God led me to WCS.
My wonderful supportive husband, Mike, and I have been married for 25 years. We have 5 wonderful children, two of which are adopted, and one beautiful granddaughter who was born over the summer. Our children are: Brandon 24, Kailyn 20, Alexandra 20, Samantha 11, and Eliana 9. Last year God blessed us by leading us to our adopted children’s biological sister, so now we also joyfully claim Kristen 22, as part of our family also. I don’t know how I would keep everything straight without my mother, who also is a part of our home, helping me keep up with all the family’s activities. I also have one granddaughter and another grandbaby due in the spring. Our family just keeps expanding and we have a really full house, but praise God, it’s also full of love and joy.
I am looking forward to another extraordinary year of sharing God’s love with the students and families of WCS. God is so good!
