Courtney Carter

PK4/Spanish Teacher/Tours

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”  Hebrews 6:19

Hola!  Me llamo Courtney Carter, and I am the Spanish teacher for grades 4 through 8, as well as a PK4 teacher for the MWF class.  You may also see me in the halls from time-to-time, as I give tours of the school to prospective families. I enjoy wearing all my different hats!

I graduated from Baylor in 2000 with a B.A. in Spanish and received my teaching certification through Region 12 a few years later.  I also worked as an Admissions Counselor at Baylor before beginning my teaching career. I had the privilege of studying abroad in Spain during my time as a Baylor student which served to broaden my horizons about a different culture and to advance my speaking abilities.  It also instilled in me a love for all things Spanish — especially flamenco, tapas, and chocolate con churros!

I grew up in Amarillo, but I consider myself a Wacoan, as I’ve now lived here for over 20 years!  I have 3 beautiful children: Caroline (8th), Will (5th), and Mac (2nd). All of them attend WCS. We love going to school together!

I love a good cup of coffee, sweet tea, pretty much anything chocolate, going to the beach, and most of all…JESUS.  He is my Father, my Rescuer, my Redeemer, and my best friend, and I’m so thankful that He opened the door for me to teach at WCS.  I look forward to showing my older students that Spanish can be both practical and fun…and helping my younger students to grow in their love of Jesus and life-long learning!  Here’s to a great year!
