“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9

I am Amy Haga, and I will be teaching English Language Arts (ELA) and Art for grades 6-8, and Social Studies for 6th grade. Having been born and raised in Virginia, I felt that I would grow old and live out the rest of my days there. However, God had other plans when He called our family to pick up everything we owned and move out to Texas in 2007. Before that summer, I did not understand what it really meant to be hot or that temperatures could actually get higher than 98 degrees! Shortly after moving to Texas, I returned to school to finish my Bachelor’s in Business from Tarleton University. From there, I earned a Master’s of Education from Louisiana College through a partnership with Region 12. I currently hold certifications for EC-6th Generalist, 4-8 ELA, & EC-12 ESL Supplemental.

When I am not at school, my husband and I enjoy spending time with our three beautiful daughters- Rebecca (20), Abigail (18), and Sarah (14). I also like to read, watercolor and create different crafts. It is my dream to one day go to Ireland.
