What is PAWS and what does it stand for?
Parent and Wildcat Supporters
Who is PAWS?
PAWS is a group of parents, grandparents, teachers, etc. similar to a PTA organization that works together to serve the school and the community within.
What does PAWS do?
We raise money by holding fundraisers. The money raised goes back into the school to provide resources and special events throughout the year. We show up. Grandparents Day, Turkey Trot, Easter Egg Hunt- just a few events planned and staffed by PAWS volunteers. These are activities that give the students and families of our school a chance to come together and make memories.
NOTE: This year, thanks to COVID, things may look a little different.
Why Join PAWS?
There are many benefits to joining PAWS. The number-one and most obvious reason to join PAWS is to benefit your child. In doing so, you also help your school.
However, there are many more advantages. Here are just a few:
Whether you are new to the school or new to volunteering, there is no better way to know what’s happening in and around your school.
Tap into a Network
Parenting is not easy- share ideas, concerns and experiences with other parents and educators in the school community. PAWS functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing the issues that are on your mind.
Watch Yourself Grow
By volunteering with PAWS, you gain valuable experiences. It’s the perfect opportunity to put your skills and hobbies to good use for a good cause- your child and all the children in the school community.
Because PAWS is a forum for exchanging ideas, you are encouraged to make suggestions. PAWS can be a way for you to make suggestions and exchange ideas in an effort to help us continue to improve.
By getting involved at your child’s school you will be part of the solution, helping make positive changes. PAWS plays an important role in fundraising to provide technology updates, curriculum-based programs, and social events- all vital to the school’s success.
Be a Role Model
By becoming a PAWS member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.
PAWS is your opportunity to support the students and staff of the school and invest in your child(ren) by giving of your time and talents. We welcome any amount of involvement and look forward to working together in the upcoming school year. Join Us Today!
