Kindergarten Teacher

“The steps of a man are established by the Lord, and He delights in his way.  When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong, because the Lord is the One who holds his hand.”
Psalm 37: 23 – 24

Watching children learn and grow has always been a fascinating experience for me! I know that God has a plan for each of these little ones and it is a blessing to be allowed to watch His plans unfold!

I have earned a Bachelor of Science in Education degree and a Master of Science in Education degree from Baylor University and have taught for over 30 years. My work experience has been focused primarily in the areas of kindergarten, first grade, and special programs designed to help struggling readers become successful.

I am married to Mike Sims. Mike was an athletic trainer at Baylor University for 37 years and recently retired.  He now works at Southwest Sports Medicine and Orthopedics Clinic in Waco.

Mike and I have two children. Our son is a graduate of Baylor University and works for a company in Waco.  Our daughter is a Baylor graduate and has also received her doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from UT- Southwestern.  We have a wonderful son-in-law who is also a Baylor graduate!

On December 17, 2018 we were blessed with a sweet granddaughter!  Watching her play and grow has become our favorite pastime!

When I am not teaching I like to read, trace family genealogy and of course spend time with our granddaughter and family!
