Our athletics program is more than just a series of games; it's an arena where students in grades 3 through 8 discover the thrill of competition, teamwork, and personal growth. From cross country courses, to the football field, to the basketball court, the goal of the WCS athletic program is to give each student the best possible experience in order that they might grow in the following biblical principles:
- Encouragement and teamwork
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” Hebrews 10:24 (NIV) - Sportsmanship and respect for one’s opponent
“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” Romans 12:10 (NIV) - Healthy competition
“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17 (NIV) - Hard work and commitment
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” Colossians 3:23 (NIV) - Being joyful in all situations
“Rejoice always” 1 Thessalonians 5:16 (NIV)
We want each athlete to learn to love God and others while competing for His glory!
The following sports are offered for both boys and girls:
- Cross Country
- Volleyball

- Basketball
- Track
Cheerleading
Woodway Christian School is proud to offer a fun and exciting cheerleading program. We have teams available for kindergarten through 8th grade at any skill level. Practices are held during PE class and outside school hours to teach the fundamentals. We focus on improving the technical elements of motions, jumps, tumbling, stunts and dance. The cheerleaders support the school and athletic teams by showcasing their skills at pep rallies, games and other school events.
While cheerleading requires physical and mental strength, it also allows our athletes to gain practical life skills such as teamwork, discipline and goal setting as well as boosting self-confidence.
